Living room photo = C&R equivalent of steering wheel photo
The mail man just dropped this puppy off. I'm a big fan of the gun store parking lot steering wheel photo, but with a C&R transfer, sadly that's not authentically possible. This transfer was on a paper Form 4 and took a paltry 198 days.
The gun is a new-to-me Thompson Submachine Gun model of 1928. It's one of the "NAC" guns assembled by Numrich Arms Corp. in the '50s using the WWII production parts and receivers they acquired upon purchasing the assets of the recently bankrupted Auto-Ordnance Corp. This gun has a Savage receiver. There aren't a ton of these NAC guns; for a collector I think they're an interesting middle ground between the "original" Colts and the West Hurley guns. I've read that most of these NAC guns were sold to law enforcement agencies. Apparently the Virginia State Police may have bought the most -- as a Virginian that's an intriguing local connection and I plan to do FOIA request on the gun to see if that reveals any history on it.
In the meantime, I'm hoping it stops raining so I can take this thing for a spin tomorrow! 😁
